Hi, I'm 31 year old female from london. I've been in a relationship for the past 4 years and a 6 year old child.
I have been depressed on and off for about 17 years but it has got progressively worse over the last 2 years. I'm currently on medication and have been attending counselling with various people for many years.
I have always felt quite isolated and lonely due to my depression as I feel that no one close to me understands what it is like or how to deal with it themselves. I don't have very much of an outlet in terms of friends as they have their own problems to do deal with & I feel like i'm burdening them if I do want to chat.
So I decided to find some like minded penpals so that we can maybe chat and share some of our thoughts & feelings
I have always found it easier to chat to people online than face to face as I am quite a shy & quiet person but I hope through being here that I can make some penpals and maybe some friends

welcome to dh. this is a great place with lots of supportive people. there are many here who can sympathize with what you're going through. sorry to hear you've been dealing with depression for so long. why do you think it's gotten worse in the past 2 years? did something happen? maybe your meds have stopped working for you. it may be time for a med change. i'm sorry that you don't really have anyone to talk to in your circle of friends and family. feel free to pm me anytime if you want to be pen pals. i understand what you're going through.
